چکیده
Collecting patient-reported outcomes in clinical trials requires balancing patient burden with concept relevance through psychometrically sound measures. Evaluating psychometric properties of items from completed studies may identify that can be removed future (e.g., are not statistically acceptable regarding measurement quality). This study evaluated this idea using item-level analyses the EORTC QLQ-C30 and QLQ-LC13 patients NSCLC. research used data a Cancer Immunotherapy Data Mart, comprising eight NSCLC (six phase-III, two phase-II). There were 5,274 at baseline, between 18-90 years old (median = 64) 66% males. The measure cancer patients’ functioning, quality life, disease/treatment-related symptoms. Psychometric conducted for each instrument classical test theory (CTT) item response (IRT) Rasch Partial Credit model (PCM). Internal reliability was excellent good QLQ-LC13. Each showed construct validity demonstrated unidimensionality; all individual had significant positive factor loadings. fit PCM well. All provided promising displayed adequate discrimination. Item difficulties ranged -0.43 to 1.86 logits -0.97 1.09 Three (Q5, Q15, & Q17) one (Q2) flagged as potentially less productive measurement, given floor effects (i.e., majority experiencing item's description), along disordered thresholds and/or small Two pairs considered redundant (Q6 Q7 Q29 Q30). remaining or performed well based on multiple indications. Overall, reliable, valid, sound. Few identified potential candidates removal assessments patients.

Minimal clinically meaningful differences for the EORTC QLQ-C30 and EORTC QLQ-BN20 scales in brain cancer patients.
BACKGROUND We aimed to determine the smallest changes in health-related quality of life (HRQoL) scores in the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire core 30 and the Brain Cancer Module (QLQ-BN20), which could be considered as clinically meaningful in brain cancer patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS World Health Organisation performance status (PS)...
متن کاملMapping EORTC QLQ-C30 and QLQ-MY20 to EQ-5D in patients with multiple myeloma
BACKGROUND In oncology, health-related quality of life (HRQoL) data are often collected using disease-specific patient questionnaires while generic, patient-level utility data required for health economic modeling are often not collected. METHODS We developed a mapping algorithm for multiple myeloma that relates HRQoL scores from the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer ...

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to compare the responsiveness of the European Organization for Research and Treatment (EORTC) quality of life questionnaires (QLQ-C30, QLQ-CR38) and the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-colorectal version 4 questionnaire (FACT-C). METHOD This prospective study included 127 patients with colorectal cancer: 71 undergoing chemotherapy and 56 radiation ...
متن کاملThe validity of EORTC QLQ-C30 fatigue scale in advanced cancer patients and cancer survivors.
Fatigue is a major complaint among advanced cancer patients. Several instruments are available for measuring fatigue. The EORTC QLQ-C30 is one of the most frequently used health-related quality of life (HRQOL) instruments, and it includes a three-item fatigue subscale. Limited knowledge exists about the validity, performance and sensitivity of EORTC QLQ-C30 fatigue scale as compared with a fati...
متن کاملMapping EORTC QLQ-C30 onto EQ-5D for the assessment of cancer patients
BACKGROUND The European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) is the instrument most frequently used to measure quality of life in cancer patients, whereas the EQ-5D is widely used to measure and evaluate general health status. Although the EORTC QLQ-C30 has been mapped to EQ-5D utilities, those studies were limited to patients w...
